Background

Cool Spring Leper Ministries (CSLM) is a Christian-based humanitarian organization founded in 2010 by Rev. Geoff Hubbard. The ministry was established to respond to chronic hunger and neglect among people affected by leprosy in the leper villages of Nsinda, Namagera, and Lukhone in Mayuge District, Uganda. Initially, CSLM conducted an annual feeding program, which later expanded into a sustained monthly feeding initiative that continues to date.

Over time, the ministry has grown into a holistic organization addressing food security, water access, health, shelter, hygiene, and dignity needs of highly vulnerable populations.

Welcome Message from the Country Director

Welcome to Cool Spring Leper Ministries. It is my privilege to invite you into the life and work of a ministry rooted in Christ’s love and committed to restoring dignity among some of the most vulnerable communities in Mayuge District. Since 2010, CSLM has walked alongside people affected by leprosy, HIV and AIDS, orphaned children, the elderly, and other vulnerable individuals, responding not only to hunger but also to the deeper needs of health, shelter, water, education, and hope. Our work is grounded in faith and expressed through practical, compassionate action within the communities we serve.

At CSLM, we believe that transformation begins when people are empowered to live with dignity. Through monthly food distributions, access to safe water, basic health services, improved shelter, and education and dignity support, we strive to ensure that every family has food on the table, every child has the opportunity to go to school, and every person is valued and respected. Working hand in hand with local leaders and communities, we pursue sustainable solutions that enable families to become self-reliant and resilient.

As Country Director, I am deeply grateful to our partners, supporters, and friends who make this work possible. Your prayers, generosity, and commitment allow us to continue serving faithfully and to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed across every village we reach. Together, we are restoring hope, strengthening communities, and reflecting Christ’s love—one family, one child, and one village at a time.

Leadership and Governance

Cool Spring Leper Ministries was founded by Rev. Geoff Hubbard and operates under Christian leadership, working closely with local leaders and communities to ensure inclusive and impactful service delivery. In Uganda, the ministry’s work is overseen by a dedicated local team headed by Mrs Faima Namukose, who serves as the Country Director, providing strategic leadership and coordination of all programs.

Future Direction

CSLM aims to strengthen agricultural production, expand health and shelter interventions, and broaden education and dignity programs to reach more vulnerable individuals, while maintaining a strong faith-based and community-centered approach. In doing so, the ministry is committed to ensuring that each family has its daily bread so that all members have food each day, that every child is given the opportunity to attend school, and that the Gospel is preached every Sunday in churches across every village.

Cool Spring Leper Ministries remains committed to restoring hope, dignity, and well-being among some of the most marginalised communities in Mayuge District.
